Abstract

There is considerable demand for materials that exhibit a photorefractive response to near-infrared light. We have previously reported the photorefractive properties of Ce-doped strontium barium niobate (SBN:Ce) single-crystal fibers at 830 nm.1 In order to improve the photorefractive sensitivity we have grown SBN single-crystal fibers doubly doped with Ce and Cr.
