Abstract
Continuous wave UV solid state lasers can be used in applications such as optical disk mastering system, or as a replacement of UV argon laser. We report generation of continuous wave 355 nm UV light, which corresponds to the third harmonic wavelength of 1064 nm Nd lasers. Continuous wave output is obtained by doubly-resonant sum-frequency mixing (DRSFM) between a frequency doubled Nd: YVO4 laser emitting at 532 nm and another Nd: YVO4 laser which emits at 1064 nm.
