Abstract
Wavelength-tunable optical sources are important for wavelength-multiplexed networks and for coherent optical detection. Recently, the generation of tunable picosecond laser pulses by a self-seeding a gain-switched laser diode has been reported.1−4 The wavelength tuning range is determined mainly by the configuration and the characteristics of the laser diode.
