Abstract

Self-pulsating diode lasers are of great importance for all-optical clock recovery and distribution in high-bit-rate optical transmission systems because of their multigigabit speed and tunability. Recently, self-pulsations in two-section DFB lasers at repetition rates more than 30 GHz at modest drive levels have been reported.1,2
