Abstract
We report here an upconversion fiber-amplifier system that uses Tm:ZBLAN multimode fiber to amplify ultrashort pulses centered at 810 nm to the level of tens of microjoules by applying the technique of chirped pulse amplification.1 The experimental setup is shown in Fie. 1. A Ti:sapphire laser-amplifier system,2 which produces microjoule-energy 100-fs pulses, with a tunable repetition rate from 4 kHz to 450 kHz provides the seed pulses for the fiber.
