Abstract

We have recently demonstrated the use of an external cavity to discriminate against higher order modes in surface-emitting laser diodes (SELDs) and cause the SELD to operate in the lowest order transverse mode for all bias.^1,2 It was also stated that the limiting of the power to 2.5 mW was due to two reasons.
