Abstract

We have recently demonstrated the use of an external cavity to discriminate against higher order modes in surface-emitting laser diodes (SELDs) and cause the SELD to operate in the lowest order transverse mode for all bias.1,2 It was also stated that the limiting of the power to 2.5 mW was due to two reasons.
