Abstract
Present techniques for lidar remote sensing1–5 can provide useful information about species differentiation and physiological state of plants. Nevertheless, there is a need for technique capable for providing direct information about efficiency of photosynthesis in higher plants. It is difficult to overestimate the importance of such information for monitoring of global carbon cycle, effective environmental survey at regional and global scales, as well as in agricultural applications and forestry.
