Abstract
Fluorescence spectra can provide Information about the chemical composition of biologic media. If the sample is inhomogeneous, conventional spectroscopic techniques record an average signal that does not yield the spatial dependence of fluorescence. Confocal spectroscopy can achieve spatial resolution by rejecting out-of-focus emission.
