Abstract

Strained quantum wire structures, which provide additional quantum confinement due to the deformation potential, have undergone extensive study and development for their interesting physical phenomena and potential device applications.1–3 Obviously the main purpose of fabricating quantum wires is to generate semiconductor heterostructures with properties superior to quantum wells.
