Abstract

Generation of ultrashort light pulses tunable in the wavelength range 3-4,5 μm is of considerable interest because of possible applications in molecular time resolved spectroscopy. Cw mode-locked optical parametric oscillators are, in principal, an ideal source for generation of ultrashort, high peak power infrared pulses with a high repetition rate.
