Optically preamplified receivers analysis including sampling jitter

Abstract

Sampling jitter can represent a major impairment in communication systems using optical amplification. In this contribution we extend the scope of a previous moment generating function (MGF)1-2 by taking into account the non-ideal characteristics (jitter) of the receiver clock extraction circuit.
