Compensation of thermal gradients in repetitively pumped laser rods

Abstract

The general conditions for the compensation of thermal gradients in repetitively pumped laser rods are given. In the compensated mode the laser emission is not affected by thermal lensing or depolarization and the damage threshold is lowered.
