Abstract
Among conjugated polymers with large non-linear optical susceptibilities and fast time response, poly-alkyl and poly-alkoxy thiophenes are gaining considerable interest in all optical switching and high-speed optoelectronics since they are soluble, chemically stable, and easily processable. Because of non-degeneracy of ground state and strong electron-phonon coupling, electron-hole pairs produced after photoexcitation remain bound to form self-trapped excitons, whose relaxation dynamics has been recently studied in poly(alkyl-thiophene)s.1,2
