Abstract

The possibility of bit rate increase up to terabit rates in fiber communication lines attracted attention to the method used for pulse train generation at ultrahigh repetition rates. A few problems must be solved to achieve terabit rates (1011-1012bit/s) in one channel. One of them, is of fabrication high-speed modulator and receiver. The other one includes the development of laser sources at ultrahigh repetition rate.
