Abstract
Thermal tensing of solid-state laser rods at high average powers and other phase distortions can be compensated by using phase conjugating mirrors (PCMs).1 Average output powers of 10 W in a nearly diffraction limited beam were reported2,3 for a Q- switched oscillator with the high reflecting mirror replaced by a PCM. For higher powers, double-pass amplifiers (MOPAs) with PCMs are investigated and average output powers in the 10 W range were reported.4
