Abstract

The Cerenkov-radiative SHG scheme is quite acceptable to organic polymers since it relaxes severe thickness control of a guiding layer with high efficiency. The authors have also proposed and demonstrated an enhanced Cerenkovian SHG using a slab- waveguide with periodic nonlinear optical (NLO) susceptibility.1,2 In this paper we shall attempt to improve conversion efficiency of the Cerenkovian SHG power with chirping NLO susceptibility-corrugation along the beam a xis in th e guiding layer of a slab-guide.
