High Tb3+ Faraday rotator glasses and magneto-optical properties

Abstract

Based on the Tb2O3-B2O3-Al2O3-SiO2 system and the effect of each component on glass formation, a new series of Faraday rotator glasses with high Tb3+ concentration has been developed. The Verdet constant, in which the highest value is 30% higher than that of commercial glass, are listed in Table 1.
