Abstract

The optical parametric process is a well-known way used to generate a high power tunable lasr. Earlier research about LBO optical parametric oscillators (OPO) pumped by 355-nm nanosecond (ns) laser pulses has confirmed a number of LBO's excellent properties,1-3 However, because of its high parametric threshold, the LiB3O5 (LBO) OPO system can only work in low conversation efficiency to refrain from any broad-bandcoating damage.
