Abstract

None of the various modifications and improvements of the first photorefractive correlator have performed as well as the phase-only filter correlator. In this work, we demonstrate a photorefractive two-beam coupling joint transform correlator, TBJTC, which can perform equivalently to the phase- only filter correlator or approach the performance of the inverse filter correlator, as determined by the optical operating conditions.
