Abstract

After over a decade of investigations aiming at tire engineering of highly efficient nonlinear molecules and crystals as well as at the development of adequate crystal growth techniques, an important milestone has been reached based on the unique features of N-(4- Nitrophenyl)-L-prolinol (NPP). NPP is a highly efficient organic nonlinear optical crystal displaying quasioptimal monoclinic P21, stacking of the molecular units towards the optimization of the d21 coefficient.1-4
