Abstract

Solid state lasers for tire 2-µm region require strong pumping in order to achieve efficient operation, and this pumping can produce severe thermal aberrations. One approach to dealing with this problem is to use phase conjugation techniques, but this will only be practical if the power threshold can be reduced.
