Abstract

T-gate lasers, which incorporate a side-arm semiconductor laser amplifier monolithically integrated at 90° with the main laset, are interesting devices with potential applications including photonic switching, high speed optical interconnects, and parasitic-free high- speed millimeter wave laser modulation in phase-array antennas.
