Abstract

Since the original report on the discovery of buckminsterfullerene (C60) there has been considerable interest in its chemical and physical properties. Recently, we synthesized a series of charge-transfer complexes of C60:substituent (S5% C60 and 15% C70) using the substituent of Schiff-base groups. We found that these newly synthesized tulleren substituent molecules possess some unique properties which are not observed in the composition groups, e.g., magnetism is observed in some of the molecules in this series.
