Abstract

We have demonstrated simultaneous two- color operation in a mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser, in which two synchronous and collinear 85-MHz femtosecond pulse trains are generated- The wavelengths are in the range 765 to 785 nm and 835 to 855 mu, respectively. The power at each wavelength is approximately 65 mW. Only a single laser cavity is used, as opposed to the two independent cavity design used in previous cw and pulsed two- color Ti:sapphire lasers.1,2
