Abstract

In recent years, the theoretical predictions of improved lasing characteristics such as low threshold current, high differential gain, and low α-parameters in strained QW lasers have been verified experimentally. However, it has not been clarified whether the strain effect also reduces the nonlinear gain coefficient which is an important parameter to achieve really high-speed performance.
