Abstract

There is considerable interest in developing high-power ultrashort pulsed laser sources based on semiconductor lasers. To date, high-power supicosecond pulse generation from all-semiconductor laser systems has only been achieved using external cavity hybrid mode-locking in combination with external pulse compression and multistage amplification.1
