Abstract
Diode laser arrays formed from leaky- mode waveguides (or antiguides) were described in the early 1980s by Ackley et al.,1 Streifer et al.,2 and Fader and Palma3 as leading to single-lobed phase-locked radiation. More recently, antiguided laser arrays have demonstrated high-power coherent emission in nearly diffraction- limited beams.1,5
