Abstract
Studies of double phase conjugation (DPC) have mainly dealt with effects in the nonlocal response medium (especially photorefractive crystals).1 Meanwhile, achieving the DPC effect in local response media (for example, with heat mechanism) is desirable in view of the considerable nonlinearities of such media and their relative cheapness. However, DPC seemed to be banned in them, and when observed the reflected radiation was not phase conjugated.2
