Abstract

Recent availability of high-power semiconductor laser diode arrays has incited interest in beam dean up and coherent combination of beams. One method demonstrated has been beam combination using two-wave mixing.1,2 We propose a considerably simplified experimental setup based on a cobalt-doped BaTiO3 as the gain medium and a mirror in dose contact with the crystal.
