Abstract

This work presents the results of our experimental and theoretical studies of laser-induced decomposition, evaporation, and ablation processes in Y-Ba-Cu-O superconductors The threshold dependence of these processes on the wavelength of laser radiation, pulse duration, and sample thickness is shown. The dependence of the amount of substance evaporated during one laser pulse on the energy density of the laser radiation is investigated for the excimer and TEA CO2 lasers.
