Theoretical analysis of all-optical switching in fiber Bragg gratings

Abstract

LaRoehelle et al.1 demonstrated experimentally the feasibility of switching the transmittance of a fiber Bragg grating with cross-phase modulation. We present here a theoretical analysis to describe their results and to find the operating conditions for optimum switching of this device.
