Abstract

Recently much attention to pulsed chemical H2/F2 chain reaction lasers has been paid as a candidate of a next Inertial Confinement Fusion energy driver since both high multiline output energy (5 kJ) and high electrical efficiency (282%) have already been obtained in the experiment.1 The shorter wavelength radiation has higher absorption coefficients at the same laser intensity from the pellet absorption characteristics of the laser wavelength dependence.
