Abstract

Stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) in gases can be an efficient means to generate radiation at new optical wavelengths. We report measurements of pure rotational Raman shifting of Nd-YAG radiation in n-H2, and p-H2. Stokes radiation thus produced will be used later in four- wave mixing experiments with CO2 lasers.
