Picosecond optical pulse generation from mutually coupled laser diodes by mode-locking

Abstract

Ultrashort optical pulses from laser diodes (LDs) are important to the operation and measurement of high-speed photonic devices and systems. Active mode-locking of LDs is a useful technique for generating such short optical pulses.
