Abstract
High density compression approaching 1000 times the liquid density is an important advance for laser fusion. The physics of high density hollow shell compression has been investigated using a deuterated and tritiated plastic shell target.1 The uniformity of laser irradiation2 as well as the sphericity of pellets is essentially important.
