Status of inertial confinement fusion: perspectives from the U.S. National Academy of Sciences

Abstract

A preliminary report on the status and future prospects of the ICF Program, as viewed by the NAS committee, is given. Current status and outstanding technical issues to be resolved are reviewed. The prospects of ICF for both military and energy use are discussed.
