Abstract
Multiple wavelength interferometric techniques can provide absolute distance measurements without the need of ancillary reference measurements. Distance can be nonambiguously obtained within a range defined by the synthetic or equivalent wavelengths λeq = λ1λ2/|λ1 — λ2|, where λ1 and λ2 are two different lightwaves.
