Abstract

Self-conjugation by stimulated backscattering on diffusion-type gratings through the discrimination of uncorrelated scattered waves has been observed in photorefractive crystal BaTiO3,1–3 LiNbO3,4,5 and KNbO3.6 We discuss different physical processes, which could lead to discrimination, and we present the results of double-conjugation of the radiation of two lasers by this kind of scattering as well as the conditions for obtaining high quality double-conjugation.
