Abstract

The multistep photoionization technique is commonly used in atomic laser isotope separation. In the simultaneous irradiation of multiple laser beams into an atomic beam, the multiphoton resonance effect is important. Chang and Schlier1 reported the two-photon resonance effect in the cascade three-level system in atomic uranium.
