Abstract

The great interest in generation and application of femtosecond pulses has increased the effort to develop methods for the measurement of pulse duration. The different autocorrelation techniques, however, are either single shot providing no phase information1,2 or phase sensitive but only with multiple shots.3 To our knowledge the method presented here is the first single shot intensity autocorrelation technique that is phase sensitive.
