Abstract

Active/passive mode locking of pulsed Nd:YAG lasers is widely used to generate 15-30-ps pulses.1,2 The energy of the peak pulse of the mode-locked train is typically 0.5 mJ in the normal configuration; double pass amplification in an additional head then yields several tens of millijoules.
