Three-dimensional imagery: optical techniques and some applications

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Some machine vision applications require high speed (104-107 rangels/s), high precision (<1-mil range resolution) topographic maps of difficult (part specular, part diffuse) targets. Other 3-D imagery must provide safe information acquisition from vulnerable targets, such as the human cornea. Many of these can be classified as inspection applications; for example, observations on printed circuit boards.
