Normalization technique for Rayleigh lidar

Abstract

This paper discusses a correction and normalization technique being targeted for use with the Air Force Geophysics Laboratory's GLINT and GLEAM lidar systems. These lidar systems have the goal of making absolute mesopheric density measurements with 5 % accuracy. Consider the following three problems associated with any lidar:
