Abstract

Frequency doubling of the 511-nm output of a 100-W copper laser has been investigated. Beta barium borate (BBO) was chosen as the second harmonic generation material because of its resistance to thermal damage.1 Efficient UV generation necessitates good beam quality even with a laser source of high peak power.
