New UV and IR lasers for ocular tissue ablation

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The use of ultraviolet (193-, 248-nm) and mid infrared (2.0-, 2.9-μm) lasers for surface and intraocular tissue ablation is reviewed with an emphasis on comparison of biophysical mechanisms, biologic sequelae, and clinical potential.
