Abstract

A diffusive nonlinear interface is known in the literature as a plane interface between a linear medium and a transparent dielectric medium having a diffusion mechanism that delocalizes any induced index change. Recently, numerical calculations1 have predicted that with diffusion a significant difference in behavior results for an incident Gaussian light beam with respect to beam breakup into self-focused channels, switching contrast, thresholds, etc.
