Abstract

Optical components in lightwave systems, optical disks, etc., are still manufactured by hand, and waveguide devices are not fully utilized in actual systems. Two-dimensional microoptics is a concept which provides simple optical circuits requiring no alignment for a wide variety of optoelectronic systems.
