Abstract

We have developed a coherent Iidar system utilizing Nd:YAG lasers operating at 1.064 μm. The lidar is primarily designed tor measurements of atmospheric wind velocity. The development and testing of this solid state coherent Mar system is an important step toward ground- and space- based operational solid state coherent Iidar systems for meteorological observations of the atmosphere.
