Abstract

Lithium triborate (LBO) is a new nonlinear crystal recently discovered and developed by the Research Institute on the Structure of Matter (at Fujian, China) and the Research Institute for Synthetic Crystals (at Beijing, China).1 In some aspects, this LBO crystal is superior to another borate crystal, beta barium borate (BBO).
