Abstract

Demonstration of an efficient self-locking external resonantly doubled diode (SLEDD) laser has recently been reported.1 Using the experimental setup shown schematically in Fig. 1, it was possible to convert 12.4 mW of 865 nm fundamental to 0.215 mW of second harmonic. Passive locking of the diode laser to the external cavity was achieved by returning a portion of the cavity transmission through the isolator to the diode.
